The RIPE community will elect one individual to serve a three-year term on the NRO NC, beginning 1 January 2016.
The election will be held at the RIPE 71 Meeting in Bucharest, Romania from 16-20 November 2015.

Motivation for Nomination
Sander has been co-chair of the Address Policy Working Group since 2007 and has deep understanding of number addressing policy. His experience would be very valuable at the NRO Number Council.
Biographical information
Sander Steffann started working in the Internet industry in 1995, when he helped to start up Computel Standby BV. He supported Computel while he was a student at Universiteit Twente. Computel started in Apeldoorn (NL) as a small ISP, started the Nederland.net foundation, and has grown into a server management company with its own small datacenter.
Sander became a RIPE Address Policy Working Group chair in May 2007, mostly because he is interested in the future of the Internet and likes to participate in things he believes are important.
In March 2010 Sander started his own consultancy company. He is focused on internet infrastructure related subjects such as IPv6, routing and security. He has done consultancy projects on all levels, from advising on the technical IPv6 road map and addressing plan for a Dutch bank to hands-on deployment of new technology in ISP networks and data centres. He also gives a lot of IPv6 trainings, mostly in the Middle East for MENOG.
Specialties: All Internet related technology, including networking (service provider and enterprise), security, application development. Favourite activity is researching and implementing innovating technologies. Implementing IPv6 and dealing with the current shortage of IPv4 addresses is a main focus area in this regard.

Biographical information
Dmitry Kohmanyuk graduated in 1992 from the Cybernetics Department of Kiev Taras Shevchenko University in Kiev (then Soviet Union, presently Ukraine), receiving a Masters Degree with honours.
He now resides in Kiev and works as Director for Public Relations of Hostmaster Ltd, the registry for the .UA domain. He actively participates in the Internet community, attending local, regional and international forums, including RIPE, CENTR, ICANN, IGF and other meetings.
Dmitry speaks Ukrainian, Russian, and English (with a small set of Dutch words if needed).

Motivation for nomination
Nurani has been involved with Internet governance for many years, and has consistently supported the principles of RIPE and generally worked towards making the Internet a better place. I trust her completely to represent the best interests of the RIPE NCC region.
Biographical information
Nurani is the Head of Outreach and Communications at Netnod and also represents the organisation externally in Internet policy and Internet governance matters.
Nurani has been active in the RIPE community for a decade and a half. She has extensive experience in community-driven, consensus-based decision-making, and has been an active participant in the RIPE policy making processes since the late 1990s. She is a frequent speaker at various Internet conferences, where she talks about Internet infrastructure, interconnectivity, peering and traffic exchange, DNS (including DNS anycast services and DNS root servers), Internet resource policy and Internet governance.
Nurani has served as a representative on various committees and forums in recent years:
- RIPE Community representative and vice chair for the CRISP Team (Consolidated RIR IANA Stewardship Proposal Team) in 2014-2015
- Member of the Swedish Chapter of the Internet Society 2013-2015
- Invited member of the Swedish government delegation to the ITU plenipotentiary conference in October 2014
- Member of the Nominating Committee (NomCom) for the selection of representatives of the technical community on the IGF MAG in 2013 and in 2014
- Member of the NomCom for 1Net and the Netmundial committees in 2014
- Member of the Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) for the UN Internet Governance Forum (IGF) from 2009-2013
- One of five representatives of the Internet technical community to the United Nations CSTD working group on the improvement of the IGF in 2011
- Member of the Euro-IX programme committee from 2009-2011
Nurani occupied previous roles as Internet Address Policy Manager at the RIPE NCC and as External Relations Manager at APNIC. She has been heavily involved with education, outreach, Internet policy and consensus-based decision-making processes in the Internet community worldwide.
