It was proposed to the Board via email to amend the document “RIPE NCC Privacy Statement”. The proposed amendments inform data subjects about the processing of their personal data for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the RIPE NCC or a third party, according to GDPR. In particular, legitimate interest may cover activities such as:

  • Customer administration (for example, the introduction of a CRM system).
  • Maintaining network and information security, or preventing fraud and misuse of services (for example, a member requests the provision of information from the RIPE NCC in order to conduct their investigation after a security incident in their LIR account).
  • Analysis of data to improve the functionality of our services and customer experience (for example our Data Warehouse activities).

The Board reviewed the proposed amendments to the documents and approved the amended document.
