Thnx for that. Its aweful true, that this abuse group does not make it any further, because a lot of the people on this list fill their pockets with "services" that really bother others. Very sad, but true and as we can see here, theres nothing we can do about this, until the community really introduces a few new concepts. I just want to remember: - we have no definition of abuse since this list is running - the last and very good drafts, all helping to detect spam better, did not make it to reach consent Why ? Because its a comunity and even the arguments of people with "filthy" practices count. That might be democratic, but does not bring us any further. Maybe RIPE should introduce real votes, where 50% are enough to accept drafts. > Secondly, regarding the local blacklisting of blacknight.ie, I can assure > you that it's nothing personal. (There's a handy contact form on my web site for use > by folks in domains that are in the local blacklist.) Just want to add my opinion here: its quite stupid to maintain sender domains in blacklists, because sender domains are usually faked anyway. I just hope for yourself, that you will never receive a spam having your own domain as sender domain, making it quite hard for your coworkers to write you some mail ;o) > obviously a racist because I demand that children in the U.S. learn English. And I recommend that we change the language on this list to German, French or any other European language ASAP ! There are less native english speaking people in Europe than a lot of other languages, probably russian is the most spoken language in the RIPE region ... > I did (and do) however wonder out loud about RIPE policies when I see > what appears to be large scale waste and fraud relating to precious and > increasingly scarce number resources, and I did (and do) wonder about > cases where some ``provider'' in the RIPE region somehow manages to get > hold of a nice sized chunk of IPv4 space which is then, apparently, sold Here I want to add some points: - there are probably more stable tools out there to handle spam from IPv4 adresses than for IPv6 - we receive a much higher percentage of spam via IPv6 blocks than for IPv4, probably because we can filter them much better. thnx to all those different blacklists (that are still based on IPv4) - we decided to block mail traffic from IPv6 completely and will not change that for a long time, because many professional spam farms already work on IPv6 > off to an American mass e-mailing company with _no_ apparent connectivity > being associated with that deal... a practice that even the ICANN Political Maybe they order housing services with them ? We also have customers not located in Germany, that have servers in our colocations. > OK, that's really all I had to say.
