Rob Blokzijl Inducted Posthumously in the Internet Hall of Fame
The Internet Hall of Fame recognises individuals who have played “an extraordinary role in the conceptualisation, building, and development of the global Internet”.
Dr. Rob Blokzijl has been posthumously inducted into the Internet Hall of Fame in recognition of his contribution to the development of the Internet. As one of the founders of the European Network Operators’ Group – or Réseaux IP Européens (RIPE) as it soon came to be known – Rob held the position of RIPE Chair for 25 years and contributed immensely to the growth of that community.
The current RIPE Chair, Mirjam Kühne, accepted the award on behalf of Rob’s wife Lynn and the RIPE community.
