RIPE NCC Finance Updates
The RIPE NCC has completed work on billing process improvements and is currently preparing the invoicing for 2017. Below are the latest updates on our planning and implementation.
Redistribution of surplus 2016
At the RIPE NCC General Meeting October 2016, the membership approved the redistribution of the excess contribution paid in 2016. The amount to be redistributed per member will be calculated at the end of December 2016. This will be marked as a discount on your invoice for 2017.
Billing 2017
The billing procedure and fee schedule 2017 is now online. In early January 2017, RIPE NCC Members will receive an annual account statement for each LIR account they hold. This statement will provide an overview of the total fee due in 2017 including the redistribution of surplus 2016 marked as a discount.
Charges for assignments and registrations
Yesterday we deployed a new feature that offers a specification of the independent Internet number resource assignments and legacy Internet resource registrations that are charged for 2017. These details are available through the LIR Portal and will be made available to the billing contacts of the LIR.
New online payment system
The RIPE NCC Survey 2016 yielded requests for greater flexibility in terms of payment options. In response to this feedback, in November 2016 we introduced a new online payment system that supports a greater range of payment options. The new system processes payments in real time, so members can immediately see whether their payment has been successful.
