1. Organisational Update
General Meeting Registration and Board Nominations
The spring RIPE NCC General Meeting will take place in Kraków from 22-24 May 2024. Register for the meeting and exercise your voting rights as a member.
At the upcoming GM, members can vote on:
- The Executive Board Election to fill two seats
- Adoption of the RIPE NCC Financial Report 2023
- Discharge of the RIPE NCC Executive Board
- The RIPE NCC Charging Scheme 2025
At this GM, members will vote to fill two seats on the RIPE NCC Executive Board currently filled by Piotr Strzyżewski and Job Snijders, each of which is for a three-year term. A nomination for the appointment of a member of the Executive Board requires the support of at least five RIPE NCC members. Nominations and support submissions must be submitted by Wednesday, 1 May 2024 at 23:59 (UTC).
Charging Scheme 2025 Options Published
All supporting documents for the RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) May 2024 are now available. This includes three options for the RIPE NCC Charging Scheme 2025.
Annual Report 2023 and Financial Report 2023 Published
We have published the RIPE NCC Annual Report 2023, which documents the activities of the RIPE NCC throughout the year, as well as the RIPE NCC Financial Report 2023, which documents the financial activities of the RIPE NCC for the same period. These reports are part of the Supporting Documents for the General Meeting.

Enhancing the Security of RIPE NCC Access
On RIPE Labs, RIPE NCC Chief Technology Officer Felipe Victolla Silveira explains the recent enhancements the RIPE NCC has made to RIPE NCC Access, the Single Sign-On (SSO) system for accessing our key services, and shares the future enhancements still in development.
RIPE NCC Access: Security Investigation Report Published
We have published a report on our findings and actions taken following an investigation into a security breach concerning RIPE NCC Access.
Criteria for the Accreditation of Regional Internet Registries
On RIPE Labs, the RIPE NCC’s Athina Fragkouli explains ICP-2, a document spelling out criteria for the establishment of new RIRs, and gets us up to speed on current work on the document.
3. Community and Engagement
RIPE 88 Registration Open
Registration is open for RIPE 88, taking place in Kraków, Poland from 20-24 May. You can buy a ticket to attend in person or attend online for free.
CAPIF 3 Registration Open
Registration is also open for CAPIF 3, taking place in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan from 24-25 September 2024.

Enhanced Cooperation with CIS Countries at ITU Forum
The RIPE NCC participated in the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Regional Development Forum (RDF) for the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), which took place on March 26-27, 2024 and resulted in several productive discussions.
Community Projects Fund Call for Applications
Under the Community Projects Fund, the RIPE NCC provides up to EUR 250,000 per year to support projects of value to the operation and resilience of the Internet. The fund’s 2024 call for applications is now open. Applications must be submitted by 31 July 2024 at 23:59 (UTC).
Community Projects Fund Recipients Open House
The RIPE NCC will hold Open House sessions offering a focused update from the projects selected for the Community Projects Fund in 2023. The first session will be on 26 April 2024 from 10:00 - 11:30 CEST (08:00 - 09:30 UTC), and the second session will be on 2 May 2024 from 10:00 - 11:30 CEST (08:00 - 09:30 UTC).
The RIPE Chair Team Reports - April 2024
The RIPE Chair Team’s latest report is out, featuring updates on RIPE 88 preparations such as the call for volunteers for Working Group chairs, ongoing RIPE community discussions, Internet governance processes and industry events.
RIPE Policy Proposals
Policy Proposal 2023-04 “Add AGGREGATED-BY-LIR status for IPv4 PA assignments'' has now been accepted. This policy is expected to be implemented within the next two months.
Learning and Development Update
Our courses for the month of May are open for registration. We will hold training courses in Muscat on Advanced IPv6 and IPv6 Security, as well as training courses in Zagreb for LIRs and on the RIPE Database and BGP Routing Security.

New Fourth Core Location Site for AuthDNS
We have now added a fourth core site for AuthDNS in Tokyo, Japan. In addition to this site, we have core locations in Amsterdam, London and Stockholm. We will still accept HostedDNS nodes for AuthDNS (and K-root) in various places around the world.
