Training and Certification Quarterly Planning

We launched this initiative in Q1 2022 and are open to improving what we publish here and how we do that. So let us know if there are ways we can better present our plans.

We will update this page as our activities progress and continue to share updates on RIPE Labs, on the RIPE NCC Membership Discussion and RIPE NCC Services Working Group (WG) mailing lists, and at RIPE Meetings and other events.

Q2 2025 Plans

Last updated: 26 March 2025

Item 1: Updating and adding new e-learning animations and videos

In response to steady feedback, we are adding and updating videos throughout the RIPE NCC Academy, adding accessibility options and sharing available on multiple platforms.

Status: In progress

Item 2: User journey implementation

Based on the feedback from the community and members received during the Needs Assessment and Usability Tests conducted in 2023, we will work on improving the user journey when accessing L&D's pages, information, and services with a holistic approach.

Status: In progress

Item 3: Development of an 'Internet Measurements' e-learning course

We are developing a new e-learning course for the RIPE NCC Academy about Internet Measurements, and how RIPE Atlas and RIPEstat can be used for those measurements.

Status: In progress

Item 4: Development of an 'Advanced IPv6' e-learning course

We are developing a new IPv6 Advanced e-learning course for the RIPE NCC Academy to help learners design an IPv6 infrastructure to deploy IPv6. This course focuses on building IPv6 networks from scratch or based on existing IPv4 networks.

Status: In progress

Item 5: New certification exam

We will create a new certification exam to assess the knowledge of being an LIR, following the LIR Fundamentals e-learning course added to the RIPE NCC Academy in 2024.

Status: In progress

Community Input on Planning

We are continuously seeking to improve our curriculum in order to provide high-quality and relevant learning experiences. At the moment, we are therefore conducting two surveys that are accessible through the RIPE NCC Academy. One survey focuses on the levels and topics of future content related to BGP that would be of interest to our learners. The other survey addresses future RIPE Database topics and technologies. We encourage potential learners to complete these surveys if they are interested in these topics.

Additionally, we will be present at the RIPE 90 event to conduct learning needs assessments and usability testing. The insights gathered will contribute to our 'User Journey Implementation' project. If you are attending RIPE 90 and would like to participate, please email us.
