How to Become a Candidate
There will be an election to fill TWO seats at the RIPE NCC General Meeting 14-16 May 2025. Each seat is for a three-year term and ends in May 2028.
This page provides a step-by-step guide to help you through the process to become a candidate for the RIPE NCC Executive Board.
Step 1. Being nominated
If you would like to become a candidate for the RIPE NCC Executive Board Election, you will need to be nominated by a RIPE NCC Member who is also a registered LIR contact in the LIR Portal.
You can nominate yourself or be nominated by someone else.
Note: You do not need to be a RIPE NCC member yourself to become a board member.
Written Support
You will then need written support from at least five RIPE NCC Members to become a candidate.
Without five nominations, you will not be eligible to become a candidate.
Nomination Form
Members can provide written support by filling in a Nomination Form.
The form will be available when nominations open on Wednesday 12 March 2025.
Step 2. Confirm Eligibility
If you are nominated or nominate yourself, make sure you are eligible and meet the following criteria:
- You must not be an affiliate of certain legal entities that will cause a conflict of interest (see the full list of affiliates).
- You must never have committed any fraud or other financial misconduct in any jurisdiction.
- You must be willing to adhere to the Executive Board Election Code of Conduct.
If you are unsure about your eligibility, contact the RIPE NCC General Meeting Organisation team at agm@ripe.net.
Step 3. Required Actions
After you have received five nominations of support, we will contact you to confirm that you would like to become a candidate.
If you confirm this, there are three actions you need to take:

- Submit a biography, motivation, photograph and video.
Step 3.1 Submit a Certified Identification Document

Please DO NOT email your ID, we will supply you with a secure folder to upload your ID document.

You can ask the officials listed below to certify your identity document:

Step 3.2 Sign a Candidate Statement
You will need to sign a Candidate Statement confirming that you have never committed any fraud or other financial misconduct in any jurisdiction, your adherence to the Code of Conduct and whether you are an affiliate of certain legal entities.
We will send you a Candidate Statement to complete and sign via DocuSign.
