Information for Nominees
Nominations for Executive Board elections close on 1 May 2024 at 23:59 (UTC).
Following the recommendations of the Executive Board Election Task Force, the following processes apply to this Executive Board election:
- A Code of Conduct (CoC) applies to the Executive Board election candidates from the moment a nominee becomes a candidate according to Article 9.1 of the Articles of Association until the period to raise any objections against the draft minutes of the General Meeting has lapsed.
- A designated Code of Conduct Team has been put in place to evaluate reported violations of the CoC.
- All nominees for the Executive Board elections must submit a certified copy of an official identification document.
- Nominees must submit a signed statement declaring their adherence to the Code of Conduct and that they never committed fraud or other financial misconduct in any jurisdiction.
- A candidate can be disqualified for violating the CoC or if it is proved that they have committed fraud or other financial misconduct.
- A mailing list and RIPE NCC Open House virtual event will allow members to interact with candidates for the Board.
Candidacy Requirements
In addition to expressions of support from five RIPE NCC members, a nominee must submit the required documents in order to become a confirmed candidate.
Important: Nominees must submit the documentation and comply with the requirements in Article 9.1 of the RIPE NCC Articles of Association in order to become a confirmed candidate.
Once the RIPE NCC receives these documents and verifies the authenticity of the identification document, the nominee becomes a candidate.
Submitting the Candidate Statement
Nominees need to submit a filled out and signed Executive Board Election Candidate Statement.

Submitting Identification Documents
The RIPE NCC will provide a secure link for nominees to submit the required documents. Only a restricted number of RIPE NCC staff will have access to them. An official identification document may be an identity card, passport or a driving license.
Upon receipt of the certified copy of the identification document, the RIPE NCC will verify it is a genuine certified copy. If the certified copy of the identification document is not genuine, the nominee with not become a candidate.

Biographies and Motivation
Confirmed candidates will be asked to provide a biography, photo and their motivation for running in the Executive Board election. A link to an online form will be provided to confirmed candidates to submit their information.
All candidate biographies will be published on 8 May 2024.
Introduction of the Executive Board Candidates Video
Confirmed candidates will be requested to record a short video introduction of themselves for the GM agenda point ‘Introduction of the Executive Board candidates’. The video should be a maximum of two minutes long and use mp4 format with 720p resolution.
Interacting with Members
Members will be able to interact with candidates using a dedicated mailing list. The list will become active shortly after the candidate biographies have been published.
A dedicated virtual event 'RIPE NCC Open House: Meet the Executive Board Candidates' is scheduled for 15 May 2024 to allow members to interact further with candidates.
Candidates are expected to participate actively in discussions on the mailing list and during the Open House event. They are also expected to be present at the General Meeting on 22 May 2024.
Code of Conduct
The Executive Board Election Code of Conduct applies to Executive Board Candidates from the moment a nominee becomes a candidate according to Article 9.1 of the Articles of Association until the period to raise any objections against the draft minutes of the General Meeting has lapsed.
A candidate may be disqualified if from the moment they become candidates until the period to raise any objections against the draft minutes of the General Meeting has lapsed:
- they violate the CoC, or
- it is proved that they have committed fraud or other financial misconduct.
