Voting Report
There were 7 items to be voted on at the RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) May 2023 - 6 resolutions and the RIPE NCC Executive Board election.
2,911 members registered to vote, and 2,366 members cast their ballots.
Resolutions 1,2,4,5 and 6 needed more than 50% of Yes votes or No votes to be either approved or rejected. Resolution 3 used the instant run-off voting method.
Abstentions were noted but did not count towards the overall results.
In the election, there were three seats to be filled. A candidate needed more than 50% of votes to be elected to the board. If no candidate received more than 50%, the candidate with the fewest first preference votes was eliminated from the count and their next preference votes transferred to the other candidates. This process was repeated until one of the candidates had more than 50% of the votes. The same system applied for all three seats, with the candidate who won the first seat excluded from the count for the second seat, and the winners of the first two seats excluded from the count for the third.
The vote count for the resolutions and the election are contained in the voting report from Assembly Voting.
