Training Courses

We invite you to attend our upcoming training courses in Almaty, Kazakhstan, from 22-24 September 2025.

RIPE NCC members can register for these courses free of charge:

Advanced IPv6 Training Course

The Advanced IPv6 training course is a two-day course relevant to network infrastructure. Topics include implementing IPv6 in routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP, content delivery over IPv6, mobile networks, transition mechanisms or host configuration scenarios. Hands-on labs are also included.

To attend this course, you must have completed the IPv6 Fundamentals Training Course or the IPv6 Fundamentals e-learning course in the RIPE NCC Academy.

NOTE: If you have already deployed IPv6 on your network, this course may not be suitable for you. Please read the prerequisites, course content, and learning goals before registering.

Advanced IPv6 Security Course

The IPv6 Security training course is a one-day course providing an overview of key IPv6 security topics. Participants will gain insight into industry best practices and gain a high-level understanding of the most pressing IPv6 security concerns today. The course includes both theory and hands-on exercises.

NOTE: If you only have basic knowledge of IPv6– whether self-taught or gained through the IPv6 Fundamentals Training Course– you may find the IPv6 Security course difficult to follow. This course requires an advanced level of knowledge of IPv6 and its operations. We strongly recommend attending the Advanced IPv6 Training Course before registering.

You should attend this training course if you are part of the staff of a Local Internet Registry (LIR) and:

  • You have knowledge and experience with IPv6.
  • Your organisation has implemented or is planning to implement IPv6.
  • You are a security/network/systems administrator, information security officer, IT consultant, or security policy writer.
