RIPE NCC and AICTO Sign Memorandum of Understanding
The RIPE NCC and the Arab Information & Communication Technologies Organization (AICTO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 28 September 2022.
The MoU focuses on cooperation between the two organisations on Internet development via capacity building through training courses, meetings, conferences and workshops. It also includes the promotion of RIPE Atlas as an analytical tool providing data for local, regional and global communities, as well as the promotion of IPv6 as a key driver in the digital transformation taking place in the Arab region. The two organisations also agreed to make RIPE NCC Certified Professionals available to industry professionals in the Arab and African regions.
The MoU was signed by Hans Petter Holen, Managing Director of the RIPE NCC, and Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor, Director General of AICTO, during the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference currently being held in Bucharest, Romania.
"We are grateful to be a contributor to developing Internet networks in the Arab region, and we will strive to provide top-quality technical support, expertise and training to AICTO,” Holen said during the signing ceremony. "At the RIPE NCC, we play an effective role in supporting sustainable development by strengthening economic growth through technical support, fostering capabilities and sharing expertise with our members, partners, Internet communities, governments and Arab regulatory bodies."
This MoU is the latest formalised agreement for greater cooperation between the RIPE NCC and one of the many external organisations we work with, including governments, regulators, technical bodies, industry groups, law enforcement agencies, academic institutions and others.
