Dmitriy Melnik

Expertise: BGP, RPKI, IPv6, IPv4, IPv6 Transition, Internet Peering and Interconnection

Dmitriy Melnik is a seasoned network expert with over 15 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Passionate about IT and telecommunications, he has strong technical and analytical skills with a deep understanding of Internet routing. His expertise includes IP transit, peering, routing policies, and IP services for clients.

Dmitriy has extensive experience in BGP, RPKI, IPv6, IPv4, as well as in analytics, designing and deploying new PoPs, and implementing caching systems to enhance service quality while optimising costs.

As a Technical Training and Development Officer at RIPE NCC, Dmitriy delivers training courses and webinars for RIPE NCC members and speaks at conferences and industry events. He is also responsible for the ongoing development of training programmes to ensure they remain relevant and up-to-date.

Before joining RIPE NCC in 2024, Dmitriy held key positions at some of Russia’s largest Internet Service Providers and mobile operators. He worked in the development department for one company and in the backbone network operations department for another, gaining hands-on experience in the industry’s most critical areas.

Dmitriy holds a Bachelor’s degree and Engineer’s degree from the Moscow Power Engineering Institute.

His mission is to improve the quality of the Internet and share his knowledge with a global audience.
