Updated Registrations For Two Legacy /8 IPv4 Address Blocks
Because these blocks were originally issued to organisations in the RIPE NCC service region, we have worked with ARIN to remove both blocks from their database and ensure they are correctly reflected in the RIPE Database only. We have also coordinated with IANA so that their registry now points to the RIPE Database for these two blocks.
It is important to note that this was not an inter-RIR transfer of address space, as these are not permitted under existing policy. In a sense, this was leftover work from the Early Registration Transfers (ERX) project, which concluded in 2002 and updated the registrations of legacy address blocks to ensure they were contained in the appropriate (APNIC, ARIN, LACNIC or RIPE) registry. At that time, the ERX project only looked at Class B (/16) and Class C (/24) blocks, and excluded Class A (/8) blocks such as these two.
