RIPE NCC and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of the United Arab Emirates Sign MoU

The MoU formalises the existing relationship between the RIPE NCC and the TRA, which is responsible for the telecommunications and information technology industries in the UAE.

“The cooperation we have with the TRA has been a great help as we have worked to offer more support to our membership in the Middle East,” said Axel Pawlik, RIPE NCC Managing Director. “In fact, it was due to TRA's offer to host RIPE 75 that we were able to bring the meeting to Dubai. We also appreciate the opportunity to provide the TRA with technical input and expertise that helps them to effectively perform their role.”

The MoU states that both organisations will cooperate on Internet development through organising and promoting training courses, meetings, conferences, educational efforts and IPv6 Roadshows that members of the Arab Internet community can benefit from. The MoU also states that the RIPE NCC will support the TRA with technical expertise where needed.

The RIPE NCC has been working to formalise the relationships we have with external parties, which include governments, regulators, technical bodies, industry groups, law enforcement agencies, academic institutions and others.
