Community Projects Fund 2024 Recipients Announced

The RIPE NCC Community Projects Fund opened its call for applications back in February and 42 applications from 19 countries were submitted to the Selection Committee over the 16 week application period.

The Selection Committee reviewed all applications and is happy to announce that the following five projects have been selected as 2024 recipients of the fund:

  • Melchior Aelmans - Open Source Distributed Symmetric Key Exchange Implementation
  • Petros Gkigkis in collaboration with UCL - OpenPenny - An open-source tool to identify non-spoofed traffic
  • Mulini SRL - Policy Certification and Verification for Cybersecurity in the Internet of Things (IoT)
  • Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) / Consorci de Serveis Universitaris de Catalunya (CSUC) - GuardXP: From Data Privacy to Improved Cybersecurity
  • Soroush Rafiee Rad - Open Domain Rank: A Community-Developed Measure for Domain Reputation Ranking Based on Unique Identifiers’ Relationships

Congratulations to all recipients and thank you to everyone who applied for the RIPE NCC Community Projects Fund this year. Your ideas and efforts are a testament to the innovation and commitment within the Internet community.

While not all applications could be funded, the time and effort put into every submission is appreciated.
