Draft of the new TTM service contract
- Date: Fri, 21 Nov 2003 16:41:44 +0100 (CET)
Dear Test-box hosts,
In order to prepare for the transistion of TTM into the IS activity, a few
changes will have to be made to the service contract for the test-boxes
(RIPE document 214). The new document is available at:
http://www.ripe.net/ttm/RIPE_214_bis.pdf
(PDF, other formats on request). The following changes have been made in
this document.
Intro: 1. IP-address has been replaced with IPv4-address everywhere
and IPv6 has been added.
2. Skynet has been dropped as a shipping option, DHL has been
added. We no longer do business with Skynet.
Article 3.4: Now specifies that the host should provide a PC monitor and
keyboard for maintenance operations. This was already the
case, it just was not clearly stated.
Article 4.2, 4.3 and 4.4:
Now allows us to collect data more often than once a day,
or keep historic data online for more than 2 years. It
also gives us some more freedom in data formats that we
offer.
Article 7.3: All data can now be made available for scientific and
statistical research, subject to the conditions in the
data disclosure policy.
Article 7.5: The reference to appendix E has been removed, the text
now refers to ripe document 180 or its successor.
Annex A: The technical specifications do not mention the manufacturer of
the components anymore, just the minimum technical specifications.
This gives us more freedom when buying components.
Annex E: Has been removed.
The old annex E was short summary of RIPE document 180
(the AUP for TTM), with RIPE 180 being the ultimate reference.
The only article referring to this section has been changed to
point directly to RIPE 180 or any document that has replaced it.
Typos were corrected in section 1, 4.5, 5.2, 6.2, 10.4, 11.4 and B.3.
If you have any comments on these changes, please send them to the
tt-wg@localhost list before December 1, 2003.
In parallel with changing this document, RIPE document 180 (data
disclosure policy aka AUP) will have to be replaced. A draft based on the
discussion at the RIPE TT-WG meeting last September will be published
early next week for comments.
Kind regards,
Henk
