I have changed our conf file to have the rv's rather than rt's in the rs-view object, and things seem to be behaving better. I can add distinct objects with keys that are like those shown below (ie an dns address, a blank, and a number), and I can retrieve them. Note that, however, that the retrieval with value after the blank in the key retrieves both, but the retrieval with the number just gets the one object. at any rate, I think this will server cengiz's needs, since I think he will be adding a number to all of these if there are more than one. is that right, cengiz? - r ps This works with regular whois -- -S as well, of course. toad.merit.edu> /f/rrdb/dbase-beta/bin/whois -h toad -s TESTRR rs900.tra.net rs-view: rs900.tra.net 300 descr: Policies for view 3 of Route Server rs2.ra.net as-in: from AS1239 0 accept NOT ANY tech-c: elise gerich admin-c: bill manning guardian: bmanning at isi.edu remarks: This entry is created by RA analysis software. mnt-by: acts-of-god changed: cengiz at isi.edu 940919 changed: rlr at merit.edu 941021 source: TESTRR rs-view: rs900.tra.net descr: Policies for view 3 of Route Server rs2.ra.net as-in: from AS1239 0 accept NOT ANY tech-c: elise gerich admin-c: bill manning guardian: bmanning at isi.edu remarks: This entry is created by RA analysis software. mnt-by: acts-of-god changed: cengiz at isi.edu 940919 changed: rlr at merit.edu 941021 source: TESTRR toad.merit.edu> /f/rrdb/dbase-beta/bin/whois -h toad -s TESTRR rs900.tra.net 300 rs-view: rs900.tra.net 300 descr: Policies for view 3 of Route Server rs2.ra.net as-in: from AS1239 0 accept NOT ANY tech-c: elise gerich admin-c: bill manning guardian: bmanning at isi.edu remarks: This entry is created by RA analysis software. mnt-by: acts-of-god changed: cengiz at isi.edu 940919 changed: rlr at merit.edu 941021 source: TESTRR toad.merit.edu> -------- > From: Daniel Karrenberg <Daniel.Karrenberg at ripe.net> > To: Rick Riolo <rlr at merit.edu> > CC: cengiz at isi.edu (Cengiz Alaettinoglu), rr-impl at ripe.net > > > Rick Riolo <rlr at merit.edu> writes: > > Daniel, > > thanks for looking at that and noticing those problems. it didn't really h > > ave anything > > to do with reading or not reading the comments: I just cut, pasted and edi > > ted another object, > > probably rt, given the things you pointed out that I forgot to change! > > RT.M! ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) :-) > > > re REC, I don't think we will be storing records for ac and tc.
