Hallway mode: We can always wish for an ideal process. The real question is: is it worth blowing up the current one? What happens if we do? What does it do to the *people*? The nominees? Our current chair? The NomCom volunteers? Any future volunteers? And last but not least yours truly who has worked his ... off to get that process agreed and is working likewise to see it thru?
