Some allocate a /64 but configure a /126 to always have :1 and :2 in order to avoid mistakes by calculating the good hosts ip addresses. Here is my point of view on how we can subnet an IPv6 subnet : http://www.as8218.eu/frnog-ipv6-subnetting.pdf It's not intended to be a best practice but this is how I've done on AS8218 network (the example1 in the pdf from page 11 to 22). Have a look at page 17-18.
