This web page was removed during our last website redesign, which
happened in October 2004 (just over 1 year ago). It is about a set of
updates to the RIPE Whois Database that happened in October 1998 (just
over 7 years ago). A copy of the page is available on the Internet
Archive Wayback Machine:

Since the incident was so long ago, I do not think it is useful to
reinstall the page.

Note that with the current RIPE Whois Database, it is not possible to
delete objects that are maintained any more, since all authorisation
schemes require at least a password. Also, objects that are referenced
may not be deleted. So there will be no repeat of this incident.
