Me (because of beeing to young?) is very used to CIDR, so for me it 
would be rather clear that a dotted quad means a single IP, and not a 
network ;-)

Would be ok as well (and coverd by the first proposal anyway) - but I 
think the latter might also be convenient - and, if documented as well, 
should not cause confusion.
