Re: Response to address mining report

This morning, lists on LISTSERV.HEANET.IE were address-mined
by a user of FREEMAIL.C3.HU. What follows is the response
    received from the administrator.
They clearly don't understand what the consequences can be:
full blocking via MAPS RBL, ORBS, and/or local blacklists.
The current activities may only violate netiquette, but as
soon as one of their users really starts to spam, they can
become rightout illegal. And then FREEMAIL will have to face
the consequences...
But there's another risk, perhaps even more serious: if they
really managed to mine addresses from your list(s), there's
a good chance that they'll use [one or more of] those in spam
sent from other places than FREEMAIL.C3.HU, using open spam
relays. And then *you* are in trouble. We've been bitten very
hard by such an incident only a few weeks ago. :-(
