Brian I think this is a very positive move. LEA (and others) need to be part of the dialogue and the technical community need to learn how to engage with them meaningfully. Anyone who wants to start making hyperbolic arguments about big government / brother / black helicopters is deluded. RIPE and other organisations need to work with LEA et al. That does not mean that anyone is bowing to their requests and if it did I wouldn’t be supportive of it.
