I personally deal mostly with spam abuse at the moment myself and many of the networks simply do not care and I never hear anything/much in terms of feedback, of course the very ethical providers example: hetzner.de etc are very good with providing feedback & keeping clean network. I would assume that the DDOS & traffic abuse, etc would follow the same patterns. Maybe if you would give more information about your situation?
