Yes, adoption of a modified form of the proposal just bangs another nail
into the coffin.

Can I reiterate? This proposal is dead. I'm just trying to make the
funeral arrangements and give it a decent burial before people start to
wrinkle their noses and remark how stuffy it's getting.
