The RIPE Diversity Task Force closed in May 2022 at RIPE 84 after successfully launching diversity and inclusion initiatives within the RIPE community.
The discussion is now continuing on the Diversity mailing list, as this topic has evolved into a broader community activity. The mailing list is open to everybody and all suggestions are welcome.
The goal of the task force is to increase diversity in the RIPE community. We aim to remove barriers that prevent participation, particularly those that affect underrepresented groups in the community.
The RIPE community should be a welcoming place for everyone.
Anyone who wishes to be involved in the RIPE community in whatever way should be welcomed and included regardless of race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, colour, immigration status, social and economic class, educational level, technical experience, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, size, family status, political belief, religion, and mental and physical ability.
A diverse RIPE community provides a wider variety of expertise and experiences to help achieve its goals of "technical coordination necessary to enable the operation of the Internet."

The RIPE Diversity Task Force started in May 2017 at RIPE 74 in Budapest and was officially closed by the RIPE Chair in May 2022 at RIPE 84 in Berlin.
The Diversity Task Force is an open group. A 'member' is someone who actively participates in the task force and who agrees to undertake work on behalf of the group.
