[Apologies for duplicate emails] Dear All, RIPE NCC New Projects are pleased to announce the following activities during RIPE 43: ----------------------------------------------------------------- * Demonstrations of Test Traffic Measurements (TTM) and Routing Information Service (RIS): RIS Demo Expert help available Thu: 10:30-11:00 Fri: 10:30-11:00 TTM Demo Expert help available Thu: 15:30-16:00 Fri: 10:30-11:00 Location: Please ask at the Information Desk. ---------------------------- * TALK: "A RIS-based System for the Visualization of the Routing Flaps" to be held on Tuesday, the 10th of September, 2002, during the Routing Working Group session. FlapViewer is a service that allows one to visually detect and analyze BGP routing instabilities, usually referred to as "flaps". The system will retrieve BGP routing announcements from the RIS and then produce graphics of involved autonomous systems and their peering relationships with the routing changes being shown as animations. Speaker: Maurizio Patrignani (University of Roma III) URL: http://www.dia.uniroma3.it/~lombardo/flapviewer/ ---------------------------- * TALK: "Observations on Redundant BGP Traffic and Flaps from the RIPE RIS Collectors" to be held on Tuesday, the 10th of September, 2002, during the Routing Working Group session. The objective of Agilent Labs' RIPE NCC data analysis project is to visualize and characterize Border Gateway Protocol (BGP4) behavior. The work is based on protocol traffic collected at exchange points around the world by RIPE NCC's RIS. The project has two tracks: daily analysis and long-term pattern discovery.
