Dear Test-Box Hosts, As you may have noticed on our website or heard at the last RIPE meeting, we have switched to a new format for the daily generated TTM plots. Compared to the old format, these new plots have a better layout and provide more (summary) statistics. After careful tuning of the analysis jobs, we are pleased to let you know the most recent results (last 24 hour plots) are now available early in the morning, around 4:30 UTC, from the Test Traffic Measurements plots page (http://www.ripe.net/ripencc/mem-services/ttm/Plots/index.html); this page also contains a detailed description of what is shown in the plots. Last week (7 day) and last month (30 day) plots take more time to generate, they usually appear on the website around 7:30 UTC and 12:00 UTC respectively. For those of you interested in analyzing TTM data themselves, we offer the source code of our 'delayplots' program via ftp (ftp://ftp.ripe.net/test-traffic/ROOT/delayplots) as an example of a moderately complex ROOT application. More information and hints on analyzing test-box data will appear in the next few days on http://www.ripe.net/ripencc/mem-services/ttm/Host_testbox/root.html Finally, we'd like to inform you of our plans for a plot-on-demand service: As the network of deployed test-boxes grows, it will take more and more time to generate all plots for all boxes every day; especially generating the 'last 30 day' plots in time will become difficult. Instead, our thoughts are to move those to a plot-on-demand service, where individual delay plots are generated upon request via a web interface. The service could also be used to obtain TTM delay plots for a different time period than the auto-generated last 24 hours and last 7 days. Currently, we have implemented a prototype for plots-on-demand, but this is not ready yet for full scale use by all test-box hosts. However, we are looking for a few volunteers to test the new application and provide us with feedback; if you're interested, feel free to contact us at ttm at ripe.net.
