Data taking problem

Hi all,

We seem to have some sort of pre-Y2K problem with the traceroute-program
on the test-boxes, causing them to end up in some funny state.  Copying of
the data to the NCC then also fails, which means that no data is available
to update the daily plots.

I've switched off doing traceroutes on most of the boxes, which means that
we can determine the delay but not the exact path. What causes this
problem, given that the offending piece of code ran fine for the last 2.5
years, is still unclear.
