Well, wouldn't it be more efficient to filter such things at the listserv
instead then ? I'm sure it would safe many people lots of time ...

Or isn't it possible to exclude certain emails from some mailing lists
for excessive off-topic postings, if this is the case ?
That would be a normal practice and would be favoured by people
subscribing to focused discussion lists, such as RIPE WG lists.

shouldn't be a hard thing to do ...
