just an FYI - don't panic

As far as the RIPE database software is concerned, the RIPE NCC has been "home of the source" and I propose to keep it so. While we are not as lavishly endowed with resources ;-) as the RA is, we do have enough to do this task. If anyone has bug fixes or improvements, please send them to <ripe-dbm at ripe.net> or this list. Both people maintaining the software, David Kessens and myself, will be at NANOG. As to the \ continuations, we will include them in the current release. As to PGP, a major design issue needs to be solved first: Where to store the public keys. It seems that the RA team is prepared to maintain the keys manually and separately from the database proper. Given the immediate number of updates this may be feasible. In the long run it might be better to store the keys as part of the maintainer object itself. Daniel -------- Logged at Tue May 16 14:48:20 MET DST 1995 ---------
