Status and distribution of RIPE client (etc)

Hi, We'd like to be able to point uses to the RIPE whois client, so that they can use the "-L" and "-M" flags. 1) What is the status of the release? The copy we have from our distribution does not have an RCS ID, and it does have the disclaimer: # This is a very simple whois client, but it knows the new server arguments # No support yet, use if you wish Is there anything newer out or planned? (Or are there plans to bless this version?) 2) Where does the release live? We got ours out of the RIPE code distribution, but we probably don't want to refer end-users to that. I didn't see it in the PRIDE distribution. Does this belong under a RIPE directory, or somewhere else. [As we develop more IRR tools, how can/should we package them. Currently RIPE and PRIDE are held separate; RA/ISI and dbserver releases have ended up under different directory structures; and there are still assorted things like whois and aggis that aren't under any of these. Is there a philosophy all ready in place that I don't know of? Is it still important to keep a PRIDE identity separate from others? Suggestions for a tools repository layout?] --Dale ============ From: K.A.
