It is a different representation of our Registry data, and can be used for various applications. The practical use of Resource Certification right now is to use it for BGP Origin Validation, but other applications are possible, such as using a certificate to make the transfer of IP resources between two parties reliable and secure. </div><div><br></div><div>When using the Certificate for BGP Origin Validation, you can make a validatable, cryptographic statement which ASs are authorised to originate your IP prefixes. Other network operators can base their routing decisions on this information. Resource Certification is part of a global industry effort is to help prevent (accidental) mis-announcements of your IP prefixes by someone else, i.e. a hijack.</div><div><br></div><div>For detailed information, please have a look at <a href="http://ripe.net/certification">http://ripe.net/certification</a></div><div><br></div><div>If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.</div><div><br></div><div>Kind regards,</div><div><br></div><div>Alex Band</div><div>RIPE NCC</div><br><div><div>On 9 Feb 2012, at 10:05, İbrahim Selçuk wrote:</div><br class="Apple-interchange-newline"><blockquote type="cite"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: separate; font-family: Helvetica; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: -webkit-auto; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 0px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; font-size: medium; "><div lang="TR" link="blue" vlink="purple"><div class="WordSection1" style="page: WordSection1; "><div style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-left: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; "><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; color: rgb(31, 73, 125); ">Hi,<o:p></o:p></span></div><div style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-left: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; "><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; color: rgb(31, 73, 125); ">We don’t use the certificate for BGP.
