Thanks Wilfried. I was a little concerned about the "link-local" requirement in rfc3927 that says: - a broadcast sent over that link by any host from that set of hosts can be received by every other host in that set In a modular system built out of multiple building blocks (which to the external world may look like a single system), this requirement is not met, and there will need to be forwarding (but no ttl decrementing) between the modules. But I guess, since it is an entirely controlled environment within the logical system, one could do static address assignment, and it may not be necessary to meet the above requirement.... Allwyn.
