[Apologies for duplicates] Dear Colleagues, On Monday, 3 September 2007, we will modify the configuration of the anycast routing beacon (84.205.72.0/24) of the Routing Information Service (RIS). This will improve the usefulness of this beacon. The current configuration is that this beacon is announced and withdrawn every two hours (for example, announced at 00:00 and withdrawn at 02:00) on our collector connected to AMS-IX and NL-IX, and that it is announced permanently from our collector connected to LINX. As these locations are very close to each other, the usefulness of this beacon will increase by moving it to a different collector. Therefore, we will move its permanent announcement to our collector connected to PAIX. The RIS tools will not be affected by this work. For more information about the RIS routing beacons, please see: http://www.ripe.net/projects/ris/docs/beacon.html If you have any questions about this work, please send an e-mail to <ris at ripe.net>. Regards, Erik Romijn Information Services RIPE NCC
