Hi Leslie, Richard I will not be attending ICANN in Panama, but I intend to attend the INTERPOL-Europol conference meeting in Singapore. There is also an annual conference in Korea (International Symposium on Cybercrime Response) that I will attend towards the end of August. (http://iscr.cyber.go.kr/). At APNIC, our LEA capacity building program is progressing well. We have just completed another round of training (second one this year) in the Pacific, for the LEAs in the Pacific. This event was recently held in Fiji, and jointly organised with INTERPOL and the Australian Federal Police. Separately, APNIC Foundation has also received a grant for delivering more capacity building activities for the LEAs in the Pacific, which will be delivered by APNIC (probably in conjunction with INTERPOL and AFP again) over the next 12 months. This program is in addition to our regular program of delivery of capacity building training for LEAs in our region. I hope this helps. I will also not be attending ICANN this time, but do plan on attending in the Fall in Barcelona. I will definitely be attending the Interpol-Europol meeting in Singapore in September. Is anyone else planning on attending? Craig?? It is a very interesting event and a good one for the RIRs to attend and meet people as it does show our support and solidarity in this realm. I am also very interested in getting a good contact for Interpol Americas and attending/participating in one of their upcoming events in the Americas. I think it would be great if Lacnic and ARIN were able to attend and do some type of joint presentation. Carlos and Kevon, perhaps we could have a separate email thread to discuss this? I think we can get a good contact from the Interpol folks at the upcoming meeting in Singapore. One thing that may be of interest to everyone is the fact that Jordi Palet is planning on making (or has made) "globally coordinated" policy proposals in Lacnic, APNIC and Afrinic similar to the recent Ripe proposal requiring annual validation of an Abuse-C point of contact. It might be beneficial if we could all discuss this and perhaps help Jordi in his quest. Has anyone else been in contact with him or is anyone else familiar with what he is planning? One other thing that may be of interest to this group is that I have been working with Carlos Alvarez on developing joint training sessions (ICANN & ARIN) for LEAs in the ARIN region. We did a training day at the NCFTA (National Cyber-Forensics and Training Alliance) so far and will be going to the FBI field office in Manhattan in August for a training day. We are discussing other venues and sessions that we might be able to set up in 2018. I hope to see you all soon. Firstly, i wont be in Panama for the next ICANN meeting, just in case you didn't see me and thought i was avoiding you all ;-) Secondly, it looks like i will not be able to attend the Interpol - Europol meeting, am heavily involved in the preparation for the ITU PP in October and the week of the Interpol - Europol conference, i need to be at another meeting for this. I saw Leslie during our RIPE meeting this week and she is intending to go, is there anyone else going? if so can you let this list know and i will also make sure our contacts in LE know as well Cheers Dick Richard Leaning External Relations RIPE NCC > On 6 Mar 2018, at 12:36, Richard Leaning <rleaning at ripe.net> wrote: > > Hi All, > > I have spoken with Europol and they are in discussions with Interpol on the ‘Theme’ on the conference in September. Europol know that we as RIRs, are keen to have a talking slot if possible. I was invited to speak at one of the Interpol Americas events in Costa Rica a couple of years ago but had to cancel due to illness. I believe that Kimmo was the person who connected me with the Interpol Americas group. I know that Benoit (whose last name I forget) from the Interpol office in Singapore offered to connect Vymala with the regional Interpol office in Africa and me with the Interpol office in the Americas when we spoke with him at the Europol meeting this past summer. Dick, perhaps you could contact him to ask who we should all be coordinating with regionally? Or even do an e-introduction to him for all of us so that we can contact him directly. I have lost his business card, so I would really appreciate this! >> >> Looking forward to hearing from all of you. >> >> Best, >> Leslie >> >> >> >> On 3/5/18, 11:21 AM, "RIRs-LEA on behalf of Carlos M.
