Nowadays, the technologies that are available when monitoring a network are very fragmented and no standard means is offered to access the data each probe can produce. mPlane architecture is addressing this problem by offering a simple and very practical way to i) ask probes to run experiments, ii) collect results in large repositories, and iii) running automatic algorithms to extract useful information from the available data. Particular attention would be dedicated to discussing the definition of a measurement plane for the Internet, to shed light on the Internet quality. The keynote speakers will share with us their views about the challenges faced by the industry in the areas of network monitoring and measurements, and share their experiences in bringing to the market innovative solutions.
