Subject:RIPE 47: View webcasts and interact remotely Cc: Fcc: cur From: RIPE NCC Meeting Registration <meeting at ripe.net> X-Organization: RIPE Network Coordination Centre X-Phone: +31 20 535 4444 X-Fax: +31 20 535 4445 -------- Dear Colleagues, RIPE 47 will be held from 26 - 30 January 2004 at the NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. To increase the involvement of the RIPE NCC membership and the RIPE community in RIPE 47, we are offering a range of webcasts/audiocasts and feedback mechanisms. We hope this enables those not at the meeting to follow and participate in RIPE 47 sessions. RIPE 47 WEBCAST / AUDIOCAST ========================== The following sessions, held in the Grand Ballroom, will be broadcast live via webcast and archived on the RIPE NCC web site: - - Address Policy Working Group - - Database Working Group - - DN* (Tues. session) - - ENUM BoF - - EOF - - Plenary - - RIPE NCC Services Working Group The RIPE NCC will make the webcast sessions available through IPv6 as a trial for the first time. All other sessions will be available via audiocast. More information is available at: http://www.ripe.net/ripe/meetings/ripe-47/webcast.html IRC / JABBER TRIALS ================= The RIPE NCC will be holding trials in collecting feedback from those who are not at the RIPE Meeting but who are following sessions remotely. The mediums used for this are IRC (Internet Relay Chat) and Jabber. Those who are unable to attend but wish to participate in the meeting are encouraged to find a proxy who will present their questions at the meeting. The feedback trials provided at RIPE 47 enable participants to send feedback to their proxy via IRC or Jabber. Each session will require a volunteer appointed by the RIPE Working Group Chair to keep track of all other messages as they are received and to pass them on to the chair of the session as appropriate. The volunteer should also type in a brief summary of what is being discussed at the session for the benefit of those following the session remotely. To preserve impartiality, RIPE NCC staff members will not be allowed to moderate. Please note that feedback submitted through IRC/Jabber will be archived and made available on the RIPE NCC web site. If you do not have an IRC or Jabber client already, we recommend that you download and register a client when you arrive at the meeting and before your first session. Links to clients and further information can be found at: http://www.ripe.net/ripe/meetings/ripe-47/feedback.html OTHER USEFUL INFORMATION ======================== The RIPE On Site Information Exchange (ROSIE) will be available, providing attendees with important meeting information: http://rosie.ripe.net (accessible only at meeting site) For more information about the agenda for RIPE 47 please see: http://www.ripe.net/ripe/meetings/ripe-47/meeting-plan.html Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at: <meeting at ripe.net>. Best regards Camilla Meidell Conference Coordinator RIPE NCC
