Hello,

That feature came as a side-effect of the latest hackathon. It did not
qualify for any prizes (because it was added by yours truly), but it may
come handy in some cases. Its announcement was buried in a generic "Various
usability fixes in measurement details, maps, ..." statement, which I'm
fully to blame.

As for what it's for, compare this:
