[pi-tf] Closing the pi-tf@localhost mailing list

Dear Colleagues,

The Provider Independent (PI) Task Force was established at RIPE 44 (January 2003) to examine the possibility of changing the policy for assigning Provider Independent address space. As a result, the <pi- tf@localhost mailing list was established.

At the start of 2004 the minimum IPv4 allocation was changed from a / 20 to a /21. At the same time, the requirement to demonstrate existing or immediate usage of at least 25% of the allocated space was removed.

Since 2004, the RIPE policy development process has been more formally documented. Policy discussions all take place on Working Group mailing lists and follow the process outlined at:
http://www.ripe.net/ripe/policies/

As a result, there is no longer a need for the pi-tf@localhost mailing list. From 16 June 2005 the list will be closed to new subscribers and no new postings will be accepted.

The web archive will remain available at:
http://www.ripe.net/ripe/maillists/archives/pi-tf/index.html

Kind regards,
