One missing note, we are still figuring out how the physical setup in AWS should be for hosting the simulated quantum network. To keep things simple we plan to use ports in the range 8000-8100 depending on the network size. Please keep this in mind when checking your available ports. -Matt ________________________________ From: Matt Skrzypczyk Sent: Wednesday, September 25, 2019 1:16:39 PM To: peqi-hackathon-orga at ripe.net Subject: Technical Timeplan for Simulated Quantum Network Tests Hey all, In the last meeting I promised I would provide a timeplan for testing the simulated quantum network backend we will be hosting on AWS. Please find below the timeplan: September 29th - Deadline for information of technical point of contact for each node and permitted port information. We are still lacking technical contacts for the Padua and CERN locations and I additionally need information on the permitted Outbound ports that the end nodes will be able to connect to AWS over. I require this information to prepare some test scripts that can be run at the end nodes for verification of the connections. By this date I will also have constructed a document for setting up the test environment on a machine within your end node location. October 1st - Initial end node connection tests. By this date I will provide the technical contacts a script that can be run in their local network for verifying the connections to our simulated quantum network in AWS. We will gather any connection issues at this point and discuss what needs to be modified at the end node/AWS infrastructure to ensure participants are able to connect. October 4th - Second round of end node connection tests. Here we will verify that any fixes performed following the initial tests have been performed and we will verify any nodes that failed previously will be able to connect again. We can also discuss if another test date needs to be planned if there are still issues. I will be on holidays October 10th through October 24th so I will not be taking any action for the technical side of things during this time period. October 28th - Pre-hackathon double check. According to the EtherPad we plan to have the Hackathon on November 5th. For this test the full simulated network infrastructure will be set up and we will perform additional verification for the full network setup. This will also give us some time to resolve any new issues that may have come up. I will be on holidays again October 29th through November 3rd. November 4th/5th - Final test. This can take place the night before or morning of the hackathon and we will do one more verification of the infrastructure before the hackathon begins. I believe I have all ready received port information from the Saravejo node. Please ensure you provide me your technical contact and permitted Outbound ports for your venue by October 28th. Please let me know if you have any suggestions/issues with this timeplan and we will adjust accordingly. Thanks! -Matt -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
