I have no doubt that Sasha will bring valuable insights and leadership to our community. <span style="font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-alternates: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-position: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap; font-size: 15px;">I also want to express my gratitude to everyone who engaged in the process, including those who supported my candidacy. The discussions and feedback have highlighted the passion and commitment within our community, which is something we can all be proud of. <span style="font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-alternates: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-position: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap; font-size: 15px;">The recent selection process has brought to light the need for clearer guidelines in our processes. I wholeheartedly support the initiative to address this in our next RIPE meeting and look forward to contributing to this important discussion. After the announcement end of last week that we were prioritizing expressions of support from long-standing members, we have not heard any reason why this would be a bad procedure and we have got a lot of on-list and off-list feedback supporting it.<o:p></o:p><o:p> </o:p>Having said that, we will bring up the chair selection topic at the next RIPE meeting and welcome everyone to join us for that discussion. The last three weeks have showed that we might be needing clearer guidelines in the process.
