Well, the proposed charging scheme for 2015 is €1600 per year both for a full LIR membership, and a "legacy-only/DAU" membership. If you're a legacy holder there's a €2000 sign-up fee for "DAU", €0 for LIR. https://www.ripe.net/lir-services/ncc/gm/may-2014/supporting-documents/ChargingScheme2015.pdf The way I'm thinking, is that either: 1) if «money's no object», one would go for the LIR option, as that gives the most services and the possibility to get IPv6 and a last-/8 /22 (which you then could probably sell to cover the fee... :-P), or: 2) if you don't have €1600 to spend, you'll either bite the bullet and get sponsored by another LIR for €50, or stay with the free "status quo" option. Either way, the DAU option doesn't seem very useful. Right? Tore
