First of all, RIPE NCC, as the operator of k.root-servers.net need some stats for there operations so why not make them public. Secondly the data is quite usefull, and once the infrastructure is in place it makes sense to use it for other nameservercomplexes as well. Regards, Andre Koopal MCI
