Dear Colleagues, The RIPE 57 Meeting will be held from 26-30 October (Sunday - Thursday) 2008, at the JW Marriott Hotel, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This is the first time a RIPE Meeting is being held in the Middle East. RIPE Meeting give you the perfect opportunity to discuss IP networking issues with colleagues from around the world and allow you to directly participate in IP address policy making discussions. Be aware, address policies made in RIPE directly affect Internet address space distribution in the Middle East region. RIPE is a collaborative forum open to all parties interested in wide area IP networks. Its objective is to ensure the administrative and technical coordination necessary to enable the operation of the Internet in the RIPE NCC service region. The RIPE 57 Meeting will therefore bring together ISPs, telecommunication companies, educational institutions, RIPE NCC members and other industry representatives from around the world to discuss the functioning of the Internet. The Middle East is an increasingly active region for Internet growth, and RIPE 57 is a valuable opportunity for network operators and other interested parties from the region to network with colleagues and peers from Europe and Central Asia. This is your chance to participate in IP address policy discussions and reach consensus with your colleagues that shape the future of address distribution in your region. The participation in RIPE from the Middle Eastern region is growing but needs to be stronger. The Middle East Network Operator Group (MENOG) is also working with RIPE to ensure that the Middle East Internet community plays an active role in RIPE 57. The meeting agenda will focus on issues that are relevant in the Middle East as well as to an international audience. Your input is essential for building an agenda tailored to your needs. If you would like to give a presentation, or suggest a topic for discussion, please contact <meeting at ripe.net>.
