Dear Colleagues, As of Monday, 3 January 2011, the RIPE NCC will allocate enough IPv4 address space to Local Internet Registries (LIRs) requesting space to meet their needs for a period of up to six months. End-Users that request space from an LIR or the RIPE NCC will also be assigned enough address space to meet their needs for a period of up to six months. This is a change from the current policy which states that address space is allocated or assigned to meet needs for up to nine months. The change is in accordance with RIPE Policy Proposal 2009-03, "Run Out Fairly", which was accepted by the RIPE Community in December 2009. The proposal can be found at: http://ripe.net/ripe/policies/proposals/2009-03.html The following RIPE Documents have been updated to reflect the implementation of this policy: http://www.ripe.net/ripe/docs/ripe-488.html http://www.ripe.net/ripe/docs/ripe-489.html http://www.ripe.net/ripe/docs/ripe-490.html http://www.ripe.net/ripe/docs/ripe-491.html If you have any questions about this, please send an email to <lir-help at ripe.net> Regards, Xavier Le Bris RIPE NCC Registration Services Department
