And nearly all those autoresponders are IMHO broken, because they
do not distinguish between messages delivered via a mailing list
and messges directly addressed to the recipient.  Only messages
in the latter category should get the "vacation / absent"
auto-response.

It could sensibly be argued that ticket systems ought to act the
same way.
