Insider trading would have been if I would have stayed employed at the RIPE
NCC and opened a brokerage company as a second job.

I did no such thing. I left the RIPE NCC many months before I started the
IP brokerage business.

Please do not imply that I did insider trading, whatever you mean by that,
ever again.

IPv6 had nothing to do with my decision to move on and try a new
job/challenge. I am actually promoting IPv6 as much as I can.

We are now left with a marketplace to buy or sell IPs which is ridiculous

That is not true. We have brokered many transfers where the network using
the IPs was still operational. There are many reasons why a transfer can
occur, not just when IPs are not used and sold.

change focus, split, merge (sometimes partially).

The transfer market has been in existance since 2009-2011 (depending on the
region) and it has served its purpose for thousands of companies. It still
serves its purpose by making IPv4 available to those in need... it comes
with a cost but if you want free IPs nobody is stoping you to use IPv6 and
nat/cgnat/etc.
