[members-discuss] Cogent uses RIPE DB for spam

Hi Andrei, 

Whilst it is unfortunate that some companies use this data for commercial sollicitation (Cogent isn’t the only one…), the fact that the information is in the publicly-accessible RIPE database puts this information into the public domain.  Although the RIPE database Terms and Conditions specifically prohibit the use of the information for commercial solicitation (Article 4, paragraph 4 refers), in practice this restriction is difficult to enforce since the data is accessible to anyone anywhere irrespective of whether or not they are RIPE members.
